Salary Range: $39.07 - $56.00 /hour

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Primary Care Nurse to join our team at the Regional Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Program. The role involves providing comprehensive, trauma-informed care and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to address patients' holistic needs, fostering a safe and supportive environment for those with diverse and complex challenges.

Essential Qualifications
  • Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Valid CPR certificate
  • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in primary care or trauma-informed care within the last 3 years
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed principles and practices
  • Knowledge of family practice nursing across the lifespan and assessment skills
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and digital tools
  • Understanding of Safety Culture in healthcare per OHSA
  • Experience in Care Coordination and System Navigation
  • Competency in phlebotomy
  • Excellent assessment and decision-making skills
  • Experience in health promotion and prevention
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Critical thinking and clinical problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, providing nursing leadership
  • Computer skills, especially Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in trauma-focused clinics or mental health nursing
  • Trauma-informed care or mental health nursing certification
  • Certification as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner
  • Experience with diverse and underserved populations
  • ACLS certification
  • Proficiency in French is an asset
Teaching and Research

As part of St. Joseph's, affiliated with Western University and Fanshawe College, engagement in teaching and research is expected alongside clinical duties.

Immunization Requirements
  • Vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, Hepatitis B, COVID-19, and influenza
  • Documentation of Tuberculosis skin testing
