Job summary

St. Joseph Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Birthing Area/Labour and Delivery to provide patient-centred care and collaborate with the care team at Charlton Campus (Hamilton Downtown).

The role requires active Ontario RN registration and NRP certification or commitment to complete within 3 months. The candidate should have recent Women's and Infants' Program experience, cross-training willingness, and additional perinatal certifications will be favored.

Qualifications

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Recent clinical experience within last 2 years in the Women's and Infants' Program.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certification or plan to obtain within 3 months.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient-centred, evidence-informed care for women, newborns and families.
  • Collaborate with inter-professional team to deliver care across units.
  • Demonstrate leadership in nursing care for high acuity and complex cases.

The RN provides patient/client-centred and evidence informed care to promote health and assess the need for the provision of care and the treatment of health conditions by supportive preventative therapeutic palliative and rehabilitation means in order to attain or maintain optimal patient/client function.
