Job summary

Peterborough Regional Health Centre is hiring a Registered Nurse for a part-time job share in the Labor and Delivery unit in Peterborough, Ontario. The RN will provide comprehensive obstetric care, promote health, and support families through the care continuum.

The role requires current CNO registration, Perinatal specialty training or commitment, and certifications in Fetal Health Surveillance and Neonatal Resuscitation. Excellent teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Commitment to obtaining Perinatal specialty certificate within one year of hire.
  • Fetal Health Surveillance Certification required or commitment to complete within 1 month of hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certification required or commitment to complete within 2 years.
  • Baby Friendly Initiative 20-hour Breastfeeding Course required or commitment to complete within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to patients in the 2B level Labor and Delivery Unit with both stable and complex needs.
  • Promote health and prevent illness in alignment with professional standards.
  • Support Family Centered Care through effective communication and collaboration.

S/he is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients, with predictable and unpredictable outcomes who may or may not be clinically stable. The RN practices in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario Professional Standards.WHAT YOU’LL BRING:Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of OntarioCurrent BCLS requiredAbility to assess, monitor and provide care for Women in a 2B level Labor and Delivery UnitSuccessful completion of/or current enrolment in Perinatal specialty certificate. Applicants must commit to obtaining their Perinatal specialty certificate within one year from their date of hire.
