Brightshores is seeking a part-time registered nurse for Critical Care in Owen Sound. You will report to the Manager of Critical Care and Respiratory Therapy and care for critically ill adults, and occasionally children, using preventive and therapeutic approaches.

Must have Ontario RN registration, 3 years CC experience, Critical Care Certificate, BCLS/ACLS and PALS (or willingness within one year). Emphasis on safety, teamwork and continuous professional development.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Minimum 3 years of recent Critical Care experience.
• Must hold a Critical Care Certificate.
• BCLS, ACLS required; PALS required or willing to obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills.
• Excellent communication, patient service and teamwork.
• Demonstrates leadership, problem solving and decision making.
• Active participation in Reflective Practice and staff meetings.

Responsabilités

• Provide care for critically ill adults, and occasionally children, during the critical phase of illness.
• Promote health and deliver preventive, therapeutic care.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and collaborate with the care team.
• Support patient safety and coordinate with families and healthcare professionals.

REASON TO POST: DIRECT REPLACEMENTWAGE RATE: $41.15 - $58.98

Reporting to the Manager of Critical Care and Respiratory Therapy, the registered nurse focuses on the promotion of health and the assessment of the provision of care of and the treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventative, therapeutic means to critical ill adults and occasionally children, during the critical phase of their illness in order that the client may return to, attain, or maintain optimal function.

Skills/Abilities/Qualifications

Required

• Ontario College of Nurses registration
• 3 years of recent Critical Care experience
• Critical Care Certificate
• Current BCLS
• Current ACLS
• Current PALS or willingness to obtain within one year of hire
• Demonstrates an ability to think critically and respond effectively in emergency situations
• Excellent communication, customer service and collaboration skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals
• Excellent leadership, problem solving, decision making and interpersonal skills
• Ongoing participation with College of Nurses Reflective Practice
• Willingness to routinely participate in staff meetings and unit specific projects
• Completion of all unit specific certifications and Delegated Medical Acts or willingness to do so within allotted time frame
• Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education
• Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
