The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Ottawa is seeking a Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist to join the Neurophysiology Department. This permanent full-time role (37.5 hours/week) offers pediatric-focused neurodiagnostic work, including EEG, EP, EMG, and NCS, in a world-class research and care environment.

  • R.E.T. certification through CBRET is required.
  • Graduate of a CBRET-approved Electrophysiology program.
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical neurophysiology experience.

  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment and handle stress.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic procedures including EEG, EP, EMG, and NCS
  • Obtain clinical neurological histories

  • Operate and troubleshoot sophisticated neurodiagnostic equipment
  • Produce detailed technical reports
  • Collaborate with physicians and interprofessional teams

As a Neurodiagnostic Technologist, you will provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered care while performing advanced neurophysiological testing.

You will:

Here’s What You’ll Need

Essential Qualifications

  • Registered Electroneurophysiology Technologist (R.E.T.) certification through CBRET
  • Graduate of a CBRET-approved Electrophysiology program
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical neurophysiology experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient and family-centred care
  • Ability to work effectively, efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment in stressful situations to meet patient care needs.
  • Effective computer skills and can meet continuing education requirements.
  • Understand importance and demonstrates ability to foster a culture of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

Preferred Requirements

  • EMG experience
  • University background in health sciences
  • Membership with CAET (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
  • Current BCLS certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
