Job summary

The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto, Ontario invites applications for a Non-Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist. This permanent full-time role offers hands-on training in advanced neurodiagnostic testing within our Neurophysiology team and provides a pathway toward CBRET certification and registration.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Learn to perform routine EEG procedures and obtain relevant neurological histories.
  • Educate patients and families about procedures and prepare children for testing.
  • Operate specialized neurodiagnostic equipment and produce detailed reports.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams and assist with equipment maintenance.

Here's What You'll Get To Do

As a Non-Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist, you will become an important member of the Neurophysiology team and receive training to safely perform routine EEG studies while providing compassionate, patient-and family-centred care.

You Will
  • Learn to perform routine Electroencephalography (EEG) procedures
  • Obtain relevant neurological and clinical histories
  • Educate patients and families about procedures
  • Prepare and support children throughout testing
  • Operate specialized neurodiagnostic equipment
  • Produce detailed technical reports
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Participate in educational activities designed to support CBRET certification and professional growth

Essential Qualifications
  • Graduate of a CBRET-recognized Neurophysiology program
  • Working toward eligibility to write Part 1 and/or Part 2 of the CBRET examinations

  • Excellent organizational and critical thinking abilities

Preferred Qualifications
  • Membership with CAET (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
  • Current BCLS certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
