Job summary

The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto, Ontario is seeking a Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist to advance pediatric neurophysiology testing. You will perform advanced procedures and contribute to child-focused diagnosis and care.

  • Registered Electroneurophysiology Technologist (R.E.T.) certification through CBRET.
  • Graduate of a CBRET-approved Electrophysiology program.
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical neurophysiology experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic procedures including EEG, EP, EMG, and NCS
  • Obtain clinical neurological histories
  • Educate patients and families about procedures
  • Operate and troubleshoot sophisticated neurodiagnostic equipment
  • Produce detailed technical reports
  • Collaborate with physicians and interprofessional teams

Here's What You'll Get To Do

As a Neurodiagnostic Technologist, you will provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered care while performing advanced neurophysiological testing.

You Will
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures including EEG, EP, EMG, and NCS
  • Obtain clinical neurological histories
  • Educate patients and families about procedures
  • Operate and troubleshoot sophisticated neurodiagnostic equipment
  • Produce detailed technical reports
  • Collaborate with physicians and interprofessional teams
  • Collaborate with external health service providers
  • Support teaching, education, research, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives
Essential Qualifications
Here's What You'll Need
  • Registered Electroneurophysiology Technologist (R.E.T.) certification through CBRET
  • Graduate of a CBRET-approved Electrophysiology program
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical neurophysiology experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient and family-centred care
  • Ability to work effectively, efficiently and accurately in a fast‑paced environment in stressful situations to meet patient care needs.
  • Effective computer skills and can meet continuing education requirements.
  • Understand importance and demonstrates ability to foster a culture of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
Preferred Requirements
  • EMG experience
  • University background in health sciences
  • Membership with CAET (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
  • Current BCLS certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
