The adult Medical Diagnostic Units at Hamilton Health Sciences include the MDUs at Hamilton General Hospital, Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre, McMaster University Medical Centre, and West Lincoln Memorial Hospital. These units are managed under the Diagnostic Services program, providing diagnostic testing for Cardiac, Pulmonary, and Neurological issues, including ECG, Holter Monitoring, Stress Testing, Echocardiography (Echo), TEE, PFT, EEG, EMG, Evoked Potentials, and Peripheral Vascular Testing.
The Echocardiography Technologist performs echocardiograms on inpatients and outpatients, including M-mode, 2-D, Doppler, and color flow imaging. Responsibilities include interpreting echocardiograms, assisting with transesophageal echocardiograms, performing stress echocardiography, writing preliminary reports, and maintaining workspace cleanliness. Providing patient care within scope and other duties as assigned.
Monday to Friday; days and evenings, including holidays and weekends.
