Job description

Job Requirements

1. Telecommunications and/or networking engineering technology diploma, or relevant combination of education and experience
2. 6 to 10 years of relevant experience
3. Experience with maintenance, installation, and operation of wide area and local networks including digital microwave, UHF, VHF, PLC, SCADA, RTUs, and telephony
4. Experience with Optical OC3 Multiplex, OC3 fibre, and T1 circuits
5. Experience with fibre optic cable splicing and termination
6. Knowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
7. Knowledge of network management and security protocols, routing, and traffic analysis
8. Knowledge of network management and operation software
9. Knowledge of standards for telecommunications transmission
10. Availability to work remotely in a BC city with a medium to large airport
11. Asset: Knowledge of protection and control systems in an electric utility
12. Asset: Knowledge of electrical equipment testing and commissioning procedures
