Unit Summary:

The CIBC Breast Assessment Centre (BAC) is a multidisciplinary organized breast assessment centre bringing together expertise in radiology, pathology, surgery, medical radiation technology, ultrasound, nursing, and genetic counselling. The CIBC BAC provides rapid diagnostic evaluation for women with symptoms or abnormal screening results, ensuring timely treatment and radiological support for breast surgeries.

Position Summary:

As a member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, the Ultrasound Technologist coordinates, performs, and evaluates diagnostic ultrasound examinations specific to breast assessment, working directly with the Radiologist. Provides optimal patient care and maintains a professional manner in the work setting.

Schedule Work Hours:

Days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Qualifications:
  1. Current registration in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in breast ultrasound.
  3. Successful completion of the Breast (BR) specialty examination for the Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS) or in the process of completing it within an agreed timeline.
  4. Effective communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work responsibly in a team environment and handle stress and conflict professionally.
  6. Ability to effectively deal with clients, families, coworkers, physicians, and staff.
  7. Participation in ongoing education and professional development.
  8. Excellent problem recognition and solving skills.
  9. Ability to work accurately and effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  10. Commitment to meet patient and staff needs efficiently.
  11. Dedication to achieving departmental goals and objectives.
