Salary Rate: $54,600 ($28.00 per hour) - Rate of pay is made up of provincial wage funding and is inclusive of the CWELCC Workforce Funding. Check out the YMCA’s total compensation package!

Location: Beaverton Beaver River YMCA

Work Hours: rotating 8.5-hour weekly shifts with one-hour breaks between 6:45 am-6 pm

Employment Type: Contract Full-Time Salaried

Join our professional and passionate team of early childhood educators. The YMCA of Greater Toronto is the largest not-for-profit provider of licensed child care in Canada, making a positive difference in our community for over 50 years!

You will plan and deliver a child-centred program according to our YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum (0-6 years) and the YMCA Place to Connect curriculum (6-12 years). We aim to support your professional growth while enriching the experiences of children and families.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing quality, compassionate care to children and their families
• Building positive relationships with children and engaging with parents and families about their child's progress
• Actively engaging in play and making learning fun
• Ensuring safety and supervision of children at all times, working independently or with other educators
• Complying with provincial (CCEYA), municipal, and YMCA policies
• Observing and documenting children's development and interactions
• Responding to children's needs, including diapering and toileting assistance
• Cleaning and sanitizing spaces, toys, and equipment; preparing and serving food safely
• Attending training and maintaining certifications as required
• Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Early Childhood Educator Diploma
• Registered or in the process of registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
• Minimum six months of experience working with young children
• Valid First Aid and CPR Level C certifications
• Up-to-date immunizations
• Physical ability to lift up to 20 kg, bend, and stoop
• Ability to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily, year-round
• Flexibility with working hours

• Minimum age of 18 years
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
