Job summary

Minto Dental Clinic in New Brunswick is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to support dentists and hygienists in a busy clinical setting. You will prepare rooms, assist during procedures, take X-rays, and help with chart updates and patient education.

The role emphasizes infection control, patient comfort, and teamwork. NDAEB certification and provincial registration are required, with a possibility of increased hours based on clinic needs.

Qualifications

• Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with the Provincial regulatory body.
• NDAEB Certification is required.
• Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and materials for procedures.
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments.
• Take dental X‑rays and digital images.
• Maintain infection control and IPAC standards.
• Update patient charts and provide oral hygiene education.
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and admin tasks.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver efficient care.
• Follow privacy, safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Build strong patient relationships with professional conduct.

Schedule:

• Tuesday - Thursday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Your Role:

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow
• Take dental X‑rays and digital images as required
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards
• Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post‑treatment care
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high‑quality care
• Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines
• Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour

About You:

• Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association is required
• NDAEB Certification
• Previous dental assisting experience is preferred
