Job summary

Comfort Keepers Victoria is seeking a Registered Care Aide to support seniors across the Greater Victoria area. You will join a dedicated health care team to deliver compassionate home care and essential daily living assistance.

You will assist with bathing, mobility, meals, transport, and household tasks while observing changes and communicating with the team. Paid training, benefits, direct deposit, and a supportive environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant program or equivalent with BC Registry number.
• Criminal record check is required.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to organize work and perform care tasks safely.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering client care and home support under health care team guidance.

Are you a strong team player and have a desire to help others? We are looking for a Registered Care Aide to join our team to work in the Victoria area.

As a Caregiveryou will make a difference in your clients lives by:

• Assisting in the delivery of client care and home support services under the direction of the health care team.
• Assist clients with care, observe, and report significant changes in the client’s presentation.
• Collaborate with the health care team, clients, and their caregivers to maximize independence with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
• Assist clients with Bathing, showering, dressing, mobility, feeding, toileting
• Assist with household activities including meal prep, shopping for groceries laundry etc.
• Motivate, encourage, and involve clients in their care.
• Provide input and feedback in the care planning process to the health care team.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients and staff.
• Driving client in their vehicle to appointments and outings

Job Requirements:

• Successful graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience with BC Registry Number.
• Have or be able to get a criminal record check
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and proficiently both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively and respectfully.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment
• Valid driver’s license anda reliable vehicle, willing to commute is a must
• First Aid/CPR certificate

Our office serves seniors across the island and surrounding communities, including Sidney, Saanich, Oak Bay, Fairfield, James Bay, Esquimalt & Westshore. This position may require travel to those areas .
