Job summary

Comfort Keepers is seeking a Registered Care Aide to join our Victoria-area team. You’ll deliver compassionate home support, assist with ADLs/IADLs, and collaborate with the healthcare team to enhance client independence.

Responsibilities include personal care, mobility support, meal prep, light housekeeping, and transport to appointments. A recognized HCA program, BC Registry number, and driving are required; we offer paid training and 24/7 support.

Qualifications

• Successful graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or equivalent.
• Have or be able to get a criminal record check.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and speech.
• Ability to work with others respectfully and professionally.
• Physical ability to perform duties and organize work.
• Experience operating related equipment is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are a must.
• First Aid/CPR certification.

As a Caregiveryou will make a difference in your clients lives by:

• Assisting in the delivery of client care and home support services under the direction of the health care team.
• Assist clients with care, observe, and report significant changes in the client’s presentation.
• Collaborate with the health care team, clients, and their caregivers to maximize independence with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
• Assist clients with Bathing, showering, dressing, mobility, feeding, toileting
• Assist with household activities including meal prep, shopping for groceries laundry etc.
• Motivate, encourage, and involve clients in their care.
• Provide input and feedback in the care planning process to the health care team.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients and staff.
• Driving client in their vehicle to appointments and outings

Job Requirements:

Our office serves seniors across the island and surrounding communities, including Sidney, Saanich, Oak Bay, Fairfield, James Bay, Esquimalt & Westshore. This position may require travel to those areas .
