Job summary

Comfort Keepers is seeking a Registered Care Aide to support clients in the Victoria area. You will work closely with the health care team to provide compassionate in-home care and support for ADLs/IADLs.

Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, mobility, meals, and daily living tasks, while observing changes and reporting to the team. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required, along with weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Successful graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or equivalent education/experience.
• BC Registry Number is required.
• Criminal record check or ability to obtain one.
• Excellent communication, both verbal and written.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle; willingness to commute.
• Available mornings and weekends.

As a Caregiveryou will make a difference in your clients lives by:

• Assisting in the delivery of client care and home support services under the direction of the health care team.
• Assist clients with care, observe, and report significant changes in the client's presentation.
• Collaborate with the health care team, clients, and their caregivers to maximize independence with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
• Assist clients with Bathing, showering, dressing, mobility, feeding, toileting
• Assist with household activities including meal prep, shopping for groceries laundry etc.
• Motivate, encourage, and involve clients in their care.
• Provide input and feedback in the care planning process to the health care team.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients and staff.
• Driving client in their vehicle to appointments and outings

Job Requirements:

• Successful graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience with BC Registry Number.
• Have or be able to get a criminal record check
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and proficiently both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively and respectfully.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment
• Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle, willing to commute is a must!
• First Aid/CPR certificate
• Available morning and weekend time is a must!
