Job summary

Comfort Keepers in Victoria, BC seeks a Registered Care Aide to join our team serving the Greater Victoria area.

You will assist with client care, ADLs/IADLs, and collaborate with health care professionals to support independence. A valid HCA program credential, BC Registry number, and CPR/First Aid are required; weekend availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or equivalent.
• Criminal record check required.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle; commuting a bonus.
• Weekend availability.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering client care and home support under health care team guidance.
• Observe and report changes in client condition to the health care team.
• Assist with ADLs and IADLs to maximize client independence.
• Assist with bathing, dressing, mobility, feeding, toileting.
• Perform light household tasks: meal prep, groceries, laundry.
• Provide companionship and support, encourage client participation.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment for clients and staff.
• Drive clients to appointments and outings when needed.

Are you a strong team player and have a desire to help others? We are looking for a Registered Care Aide to join our team to work in the Victoria area.

As a Caregiveryou will make a difference in your clients lives by:

• Assisting in the delivery of client care and home support services under the direction of the health care team.
• Assist clients with care, observe, and report significant changes in the client’s presentation.
• Collaborate with the health care team, clients, and their caregivers to maximize independence with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
• Assist clients with Bathing, showering, dressing, mobility, feeding, toileting
• Assist with household activities including meal prep, shopping for groceries laundry etc.
• Motivate, encourage, and involve clients in their care.
• Provide input and feedback in the care planning process to the health care team.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients and staff.
• Driving client in their vehicle to appointments and outings

Job Requirements:

• Successful graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience with BC Registry Number.
• Have or be able to get a criminal record check
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and proficiently both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively and respectfully.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment
• Valid driver’s license anda reliable vehicle, willing to commute is a bonus!
• First Aid/CPR certificate
• Available for the weekend shift

Our office serves seniors across the island and surrounding communities, including Sidney, Saanich, Oak Bay, Fairfield, James Bay, Esquimalt & Westshore. This position may require travel to those areas – we do our best to match you with clients in your area.
