Job summary

Comfort Keepers in Saanich is looking for a Registered Care Aide to support clients in the Greater Victoria area. The role involves assisting with daily care, mobility, meals, and household tasks while collaborating with a health care team.

You will observe client conditions, report changes, and help plan care. A valid BC Health Care Assistant program, CPR/First Aid, and a driver’s license are required; travel to clients’ locations is expected.

Qualifications

• Successful graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience with BC Registry number.
• Be able to obtain a criminal record check.
• Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to organize work and operate related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivery of client care and home support under health care team guidance.

Are you a strong team player and have a desire to help others? We are looking for a Registered Care Aide to join our team to work in the Saanich area.

As a Caregiver you will make a difference in your clients lives by:

• Assisting in the delivery of client care and home support services under the direction of the health care team.
• Assist clients with care, observe, and report significant changes in the client’s presentation.
• Collaborate with the health care team, clients, and their caregivers to maximize independence with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
• Assist clients with Bathing, showering, dressing, mobility, feeding, toileting
• Assist with household activities including meal prep, shopping for groceries laundry etc.
• Motivate, encourage, and involve clients in their care.
• Provide input and feedback in the care planning process to the health care team.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients and staff.
• Driving client in their vehicle to appointments and outings

Job Requirements:
