Job summary

Comfort Keepers in the Victoria area is seeking a Registered Care Aide to join our team and support seniors in their homes. You will work within a care team to deliver high-quality home care, focusing on ADLs/IADLs and client independence.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily activities, observing health changes, and providing compassionate companionship. A valid HCA credential and BC Registry are required, with travel to local regions possibly needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or equivalent with BC Registry Number.
• Have or be able to get a criminal record check.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking.
• Ability to treat others with respect and professionalism.
• Physical ability to carry out duties and organize work.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle is a bonus.
• First Aid/CPR certificate.

Are you a strong team player and have a desire to help others? We are looking for a Registered Care Aide to join our team to work in the Victoria area for the cluster shift.

As a Caregiveryou will make a difference in your clients lives by:

• Assisting in the delivery of client care and home support services under the direction of the health care team.
• Assist clients with care, observe, and report significant changes in the client’s presentation.
• Collaborate with the health care team, clients, and their caregivers to maximize independence with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
• Assist clients with Bathing, showering, dressing, mobility, feeding, toileting
• Assist with household activities including meal prep, shopping for groceries laundry etc.
• Motivate, encourage, and involve clients in their care.
• Provide input and feedback in the care planning process to the health care team.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients and staff.
• Driving client in their vehicle to appointments and outings

Job Requirements:

• Successful graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience with BC Registry Number.
• Have or be able to get a criminal record check
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and proficiently both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively and respectfully.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work.
• Ability to operate related equipment

Our office serves seniors across the island and surrounding communities, including Sidney, Saanich, Oak Bay, Fairfield, James Bay, Esquimalt & Westshore. This position may require travel to those areas - we do our best to match you with clients in your area.
