Job summary

Comfort Keepers Victoria is seeking a Registered Care Aide to serve clients in the Victoria area. Shifts ranging from 3 to 12 hours are available, with a starting wage of CAD 25.00 per hour.

You will work with a health care team to deliver home care, assist with activities of daily living, and support independence for seniors across the island and surrounding communities. A valid BC care credential or eligibility, plus CPR/First Aid, are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or an equivalent combo of education and experience.
• BC Registry Number required or able to obtain.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Physical ability to perform caregiving tasks and mobility support.
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle is a bonus.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the delivery of client care and home support services under the direction of the health care team
• Assist clients with care, observe, and report significant changes in the client’s presentation
• Collaborate with the health care team, clients, and their caregivers to maximize independence with ADLs and IADLs
• Assist clients with Bathing, showering, dressing, mobility, feeding, toileting
• Assist with household activities including meal prep, shopping for groceries laundry etc
• Motivate, encourage, and involve clients in their care
• Provide input and feedback in the care planning process to the health care team
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for clients and staff
• Driving client in their vehicle to appointments and outings

Are you a strong team player and have a desire to help others? We are looking for a Registered Care Aide to join our team to work in the Victoria area. We have shifts in the 3 to 12-hour range available.

As a Caregiver you will make a difference in your clients lives by:

Job Requirements:

• Successful graduation from a recognized Health Care Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience with BC Registry Number
• Have or be able to get a criminal record check
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and proficiently both verbally and in writing
• Ability to deal with others effectively and respectfully
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
• Ability to organize work
• Ability to operate related equipmentValid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle is a bonus!
• First Aid/CPR certificate

Our office serves seniors across the island and surrounding communities, including Sidney, Saanich, Oak Bay, Fairfield, James Bay, Esquimalt & Westshore. This position may require travel to those areas – we do our best to match you with clients in your area.
