Job description

Overview:

Regional Sales Manager, Western Canada

Lead a sales team that will contribute positively to exceeding the Canadian business unit's commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales team leadership:
    Lead and supervise a team of more than 12 people while fostering an environment conducive to collaboration and goal achievement.
  • Lead the transition to a performance model:
    Support the sales team in the transition to a performance- and execution-driven model, ensuring that each member has the tools and training necessary to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Coaching and talent development:
    Provide a minimum of 100 days of coaching per year to help team members improve their skills in analysis, prioritization, negotiation, and other key performance areas.
  • Ensure in-store execution excellence:
    Implement an in-store approach focused on key elements of displays, secondary placements, product distribution on shelves, and rapid integration of innovations while relying on communication and priorities set with account teams.
  • Achieve KPIs:
    Ensure that the team consistently meets or exceeds KPIs and develop corrective actions as necessary.
  • Integrate new management and sales software and reports:
    Be able to integrate new management and sales software to improve operational efficiency, performance monitoring, and customer account management. Train the team in the use of these tools and ensure their effective implementation in daily operations.

Responsibilities:

Required Qualifications:

  • Professional experience:
    Minimum of 8 years of experience in sales, account management, and/or retail sales representation in the food industry.
  • Leadership:
    Experience in managing teams, with the ability to lead and motivate a team of more than 12 sales representatives, and an aptitude for creating a committed, stimulating, and high-performing work environment. A good understanding of collaboration with brokers and external partners is also necessary.
  • Analytical and strategic skills:
    Strong analytical and strategic thinking, ability to make decisions based on concrete data and understand business issues to achieve long-term goals.
  • Technological skills:
    Proven skills in integrating and using new sales and performance management software (CRM, KPI tracking tools, etc.).
  • Organizational skills:
    Excellent ability to organize and structure work, both for oneself and for the team, while remaining focused on achieving business objectives.
  • Location:
    Based in Calgary, with in-office presence as needed and availability to travel throughout Western Canada more than 50% of the time.
