POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is responsible for all sales management activities for the Shawflex product brands in Western Canada, aligned with the company's strategic direction. The primary goal is to grow profitable sales through end-use specification and channel management, collaborating with Engineering, Customer Service, Operations, Marketing, and Accounting departments.

DUTIES:

  1. Build sales in a specific geography or market segment by:
  • Targeting end-users, EPCs, contractors, and OEMs to generate demand and create specifications for Shawflex products through:
  • Customer visits and meetings
  • Technical presentations to specifying engineers
  • Develop and manage a channel distribution strategy to capture end-user demand, including:
    • Distributor training
    • Joint visits
    • Coordinating account management activities with inside sales representatives
  • Manage assigned accounts within the region or market.
  • If applicable, manage a network of sales agents to support distribution and end-user demand.
  • Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders through visits, phone calls, and emails.
  • Develop and execute a sales plan and roadmap.
  • Maintain a high profile in the region and market segment by participating in committees, industry events, and networking.
  • Keep key customer profiles updated through monthly and visit reports.
  • Assist in preparing customer quotes considering market factors and pricing guidelines, following approval processes.
  • Provide marketing support by:

    • Sharing information on new product opportunities, competitors, industry trends, market size, and new entrants.
    • Maintaining accurate records of customer contacts in Shawflex CRM.
    • Attending regional and local trade shows.

    Administrative responsibilities include:

    • Conducting annual self-appraisals and setting objectives in SuccessFactors.
    • Preparing and monitoring budgets.
    • Managing regional expense budgets as per the annual plan.
    • Fulfilling Shawflex HSE requirements and promoting a culture of IIF.
    • Ensuring compliance with Shawflex’s ethics and policies, including Bill 198.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • 3 to 5 years of sales or marketing experience in the wire and cable industry or related fields such as electrical or electronics.
    • Experience in technical sales, channel management, and distribution.
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
