Job summary

Forbes Bros. Group of Companies is seeking a Regional Fleet Lead to ensure operational fleet requirements are met within the designated region.

You will implement best practices, supervise maintenance teams, and oversee fleet utilization and regulatory compliance across Canada and the United States. You will report to the Fleet Director and coordinate with operations, driving efficiency, safety, and reliability of all fleet activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in vehicle fleet management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in supervision.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of emerging fleet management technologies and best practices.
  • Experience leading a maintenance team and schedule.
  • Good knowledge of Federal and Provincial/State regulations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Word and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Operations to meet equipment requirements and align fleet with project schedules.
  • Monitor fleet utilization and maintain accurate equipment inventories.
  • Lead maintenance to perform timely repairs and preventative servicing to minimize downtime.
  • Audit daily pre-trip inspections for safety and compliance.
  • Analyze vehicle condition and performance data to recommend replacements or upgrades.
  • Ensure shops/yard compliance with OHSA/OH&S standards and safety.
  • Maintain familiarity with FMCSA/DOT regulations and keep documentation in order.
  • Coordinate logistics and manage costs for moving vehicles/equipment between sites.
  • Oversee vendor performance and review pricing for competitiveness.
  • Supervise the regional Tool Lead/Tool Coordinator and ensure inventory accuracy.
