Job summary

Forbes Bros. Group of Companies is seeking a Regional Fleet Lead to ensure fleet requirements across the designated region, implement best practices, and uphold safety standards.

This role monitors utilization, oversees maintenance, and ensures reliable fleet operations aligned with project needs. The candidate will guide maintenance teams, manage costs, and ensure compliance with OHSA and FMCSA/DOT regulations while coordinating logistics between sites to optimize performance and minimize

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 year's experience in vehicle fleet management or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 year's experience in supervision.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of emerging fleet management technologies and best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a maintenance team and schedule.
  • Good knowledge of Federal and Provincial/State regulations.
  • Must possess good written and oral communication in person and telephone.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Operations and other departments to ensure equipment requirements are consistently met, while aligning fleet and personnel resources with project schedules and operational needs.
  • Monitor fleet utilization and maintain accurate, up-to-date equipment inventories.
  • Lead the maintenance team in performing timely repairs and preventative servicing to minimize downtime; review major repairs with the Fleet Director to assess cost-effectiveness based on vehicle history, age, utilization, and mileage.
  • Audit daily pre-trip inspections to ensure organizational compliance and safety standards are achieved.
  • Analyze vehicle condition and performance data, providing recommendations for timely replacements or upgrades to enhance cost-efficiency and operational reliability.
  • Ensure all shops and yards comply with OHSA/OH&S standards and maintain a safe, organized work environment.
  • Maintain familiarity with and ensure adherence to FMCSA/DOT regulations.
  • Support Operations by coordinating logistics and managing costs associated with moving vehicles and equipment between project sites and yards as required.
  • Oversee vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements; source equipment and parts from new vendors when necessary and regularly review vendor pricing and suitability to ensure competitiveness and value.
  • Oversee the regional Tool Lead/Tool Coordinator, ensuring all inspections, tracking, and inventory processes remain accurate and compliant.
  • Uphold all Forbes Bros. policies, procedures, and core values in daily operations.
  • Perform additional duties outside of regular responsibilities as required to support organizational goals.
  • Vehicle documentation is correct for each jurisdiction
  • Fleet meets all regulatory requirements
  • All documentation is in place before vehicle or equipment is issued

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Fleet Director, the Regional Fleet Lead is responsible for ensuring that Forbes Bros. meets all operational fleet requirements within their designated region. This role is accountable for implementing and enforcing best practices, policies, and procedures related to equipment and vehicle management, while upholding and promoting Forbes’ strong commitment to safety. The Regional Fleet Lead will also monitor fleet utilization within their entity or region, oversee and coordinate repairs and maintenance of company assets, and ensure operational efficiency and reliability across all fleet-related activities.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

The range shown is the expected base pay range for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on role requirements, experience, qualifications, work location, applicable project/site requirements, internal equity, and any applicable collective agreement or union requirements.

This range does not include overtime, premiums, per diem / LOA, bonuses, benefits, or other forms of compensation unless specifically stated in the job posting.

Base Pay Range

$50 - $55 CAD
