Job summary

West Fraser’s Williams Lake operation in BC seeks a Silviculture Coordinator to lead reforestation activities, develop plans, manage contracts, and report on budgets. The role collaborates with Silviculture and Planning teams and ensures contractor safety and SFI compliance.

The candidate should hold a forestry degree or diploma, with an RPF/RFT designation (or eligibility), and 2–4 years of silviculture experience. Proficiency with Silviculture software is preferred.

Qualifications

• A forestry, natural resources, or relevant degree or diploma.
• A Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) Designation with the FPBC, or eligible for registration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven organizational skills, and a willingness to learn and undertake new challenges.
• 2-4 years of relevant silviculture experience.
• Proficiency with Silviculture software including CENGEA (LRM), ArcMap, SNAP, RESULTS, MS Office, iPads, Drones, and GPS will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Develop plans and prescriptions for all reforestation activities.
• Coordinate programs with Silviculture, Planning and Operations departments.
• Monitor contractor safety procedures, SFI certifications, and health and safety programs.
