About this role

Carrier Commercial Service is currently accepting applications for a Red Seal Journeyperson to work with the Vancouver, BC Service Team supporting light and heavy applied HVACR service market segments in Commercial and Industrial buildings.

The successful candidate should have HVAC/R system experience with proven problem-solving skills. They will support the light and heavy applied HVAC service market segments in Commercial and Industrial buildings. We seek a team player who can work well under pressure to meet deadlines and customer commitments, with excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.

As a Red Seal Journeyperson, you will work on-site at various customer locations within the UA516 Union jurisdiction. Membership in the UA516 Union is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain positive professional customer relations
• Provide proactive maintenance and repair services for chillers, HVAC, and refrigeration equipment
• Support centrifugal, scroll equipment, multiple technologies, controls, and VSD systems
• Maintain Carrier Factory (OEM) Field Mechanical Services for startup and warranty activities
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems; develop and implement solutions to prevent future issues
• Identify, estimate, and quote repair and upgrade solutions to extend equipment life and save energy
• Comply with and reinforce Environment, Health, and Safety policies and procedures

Basic Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Red Seal Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic / Certified Journeyman HVACR Technician
• 5+ years of experience as a Red Seal HVAC technician
• Gas B Ticket
• Licensed Refrigeration Mechanic (ODP)
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with software tools (MS Office), laptops, and handheld devices (iPhone)
• Strong communication skills
• Verbal and written command of English
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Mechanical aptitude
• Desire to work with chillers and other HVAC and refrigeration equipment
• Customer-focused attitude
