Job summary

TRS Staffing Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic/Technician for a contract role in Edmonton, Canada. You will diagnose repair needs and perform preventative maintenance on trucks and heavy equipment, while adhering to safety and environmental policies.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, maintaining accurate work orders and supporting apprentices on the shop floor. Red Seal is required.

Qualifications

• Red Seal certification is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a recent abstract.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment requiring strong organizational skills.
• Maintain accurate, detailed records of diagnostics and repairs.

Overview

We have an exciting contract opportunity to join our global EPC client as a Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Mechanic/Technician.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and support Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies.
• Diagnose construction and various equipment repair needs.
• Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting
• Perform preventative and service maintenance on trucks and equipment
• Provide major (service repairs to customers and company-owned equipment either in the Branch or field location.
• Safely load and unload equipment for transporting.
• Complete necessary paperwork, including work orders, parts orders and billings, and warranty information.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Assist other technicians in troubleshooting and problem resolution.
• Perform duties in varying work environments
• Communicate with customers concerning repair and service needs; this communication is frequent and critical.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.
• Plan, organize, and carry out assignments as directed.
• Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality.
• Other duties may be assigned as required
• Ability to perform physical demanding work, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Work performed in both indoor and outdoor environments
• Provide mentorship to apprentices and collaborate with team members.

• Maintain accurate, detailed records of diagnostics, repairs, and parts usage.
