What will you do?

  • Develop, implement, and maintain recruitment and selection programs primarily for unionized positions;
  • Support and advise hiring managers in the recruitment and selection process to ensure policies, procedures, and collective agreements are followed;
  • Develop and maintain job posting documents and recruiting tools (e.g., screening, interview, assessment, reference check);
  • Track the status of job postings and follow up with hiring managers as needed;
  • Review and screen candidate resumes, schedule and conduct interviews, check references, and maintain communication with candidates throughout the process;
  • Determine and administer appropriate employment testing;
  • Make salary recommendations and complete necessary documentation;
  • Communicate with candidates at the end of the recruitment process, including making offers and notifying unsuccessful candidates;
  • Maintain complete and accurate recruitment and interview records;
  • Prepare reports and metrics related to recruitment and selection (e.g., vacancy reports, talent acquisition data);
  • Attend career fairs and employment promotional events;
  • Possess previous experience with recruitment and selection in a unionized environment;
  • Have knowledge of current principles and best practices in recruitment and selection;
  • Understand relevant HR legislation including the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act;
  • Display a positive professional disposition, confidence, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport and put candidates at ease;
  • Ability to positively influence others to adopt effective HR practices;
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and priorities independently;
  • Proven attention to detail, with ability to produce concise, accurate, and grammatically correct business correspondence and reports;
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information discreetly and professionally;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams);
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle;
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, managing relationships and processes both in-person and virtually.

What would give you the edge?

  • Possession of, or progression towards, a Certified Human Resources Professional or Leader designation (CHRP/CHRL);
  • Knowledge of Patient Service functions and roles;
  • Experience in healthcare or the public sector;
  • Fluency in French or another language.

French Proficiency: French an asset
