Qualifications

  • Graduated from a recognized Activity/Recreation Certificate or diploma program.
  • Experience in a senior’s focused recreation department is an asset.
  • Health Care Provider level First Aid Certificate (Current).
  • Proof of COVID vaccination.

  • Carries out established recreation programs such as outings and games.
  • Assists residents during recreational activities as required.
  • Observes and documents any changes in residents.
  • Participates in meetings and educational in-services.

We are looking for a Recreation Aide to join our Point Grey Private Hospital and Braddan Private Hospital team in Vancouver, B.C

What does a Recreation Aide do?
  • Carries out established recreation programs such as outings, exercises, crafts, social events, entertainment, games, etc.
  • Assists residents to and from programs as required.
  • Assists, encourages, and motivates residents/tenants to participate and provides personal care during recreational activities as required.
  • Observes, reports, and documents any changes in residents, to the supervisor and/or nurse.
  • Ensures recreational equipment and supplies are used, maintained, and stored in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. Reports unsafe or faulty equipment to supervisor.
  • Actively participates in meetings, committees and educational in-services as required. Assists in the maintenance of statistical records.
  • Assists with orientation of new residents/tenants.
Requirements

Point Grey Private Hospital is located in Vancouver’s ocean-side community of Kitsilano. Point Grey, significantly expanded and improved in 2020, offers 153 licensed residential care beds consisting of primarily single occupancy rooms. Point Grey boasts views of the mountains and ocean as well as large windows and homelike furnishings. This home has four stories with a dining area, recreation areas and a large outdoor patio on each floor. The desirable location and freshly decorated interior provides our clients with a comfortable and homelike environment. Point Grey Private Hospital works in collaboration with the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority to offer funded beds but also has five private pay rooms available.

Braddan Private Hospital is located in Vancouver’s ocean-side community of Kitsilano. It is a wonderful recently renovated home boasting beautiful views of the mountains and ocean through large windows. Beyond great care, residents can also take advantage of convenient access to local shops, restaurants and parks. Braddan Private Hospital works in collaboration with the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority to offer funded beds but also has private pay rooms available.
