Birchwood Veterinary Clinic is one of Prince George's newest small animal practices. We are a privately owned, family-based companion animal practice located in Central BC, and guess what? After only 3 years, we are expanding our practice so we can help support more of our community's pets.

Job Description:

We are looking for an organized, motivated, animal and human loving, team-driven full-time receptionist. As a full-time receptionist, we offer mentoring and support to get you to your full potential, all while enjoying pet cuddles, team building, and a beautiful espresso machine to make your favorite coffees (just to name a few of the fun perks)!

As a receptionist, your duties include but are not limited to: assisting clients on the phone and in person, replying to clients' texts, booking and managing appointments, purchases, keeping the clinic clean, rooming clients, and communicating with the RVTs, Animal Assistants, and Doctors.

Experience is not necessary, but the ideal candidate will come with experience in the Veterinary Field.

Hours:

The clinic is open 8-5 Monday to Friday. Work hours range from 7:15 - 4:15 or 8:15 - 5:15.

Duties

• Greeting and welcoming clients
• Checking in clients
• Booking and rescheduling appointments/surgeries/dentals
• Updating client files
• Receiving/Processing payments
• Educating clients on vaccine schedules, surgeries, appointments, third party financing, etc.
• Reviewing/Explaining patient prescriptions when they are dispensed
• Maintaining cleanliness of waiting room and cleaning exam rooms between appointments
• Communicating regularly with management/Technicians/Assistants and Doctors
• Maintaining composure and working well under pressure
• Enjoying working with animals and their humans

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience as a veterinary receptionist or in a similar role is preferred
• Knowledge of Veterinary Medicine or willingness to learn the industry
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and assist staff with various tasks
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
