Qualifications

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in front desk or office administration preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of First Nation culture helpful.

Job description

Flying Dust First Nation is currently seeking a motivated and professional individual to join our Administration Division as a Front Desk Receptionist. This position plays a key role in providing reception and clerical support to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the Administration office. The Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for delivering welcoming, efficient, and confidential front-line service. Duties include greeting and directing visitors, managing incoming calls and correspondence, coordinating appointments and meeting spaces, and administering Flying Dust cheques as required.

Key Duties
  • Respond to telephone, email, and in-person inquiries from clients, partners, and community members
  • Direct inquiries to appropriate staff, departments, or divisions
  • Record and distribute telephone, email, and written messages accurately
  • Receive, process, and distribute incoming correspondence and over-the-counter documents
  • Present a positive, professional image as the first point of contact for visitors, suppliers, and stakeholders
  • Implement emergency evacuation procedures when required
  • Accept and monitor incoming deliveries and shipments
  • Maintain staff itineraries and remain informed of staff movements within and outside the office
  • Provide backup support to the Files Clerk/Office Admin Support Manager as needed, including use of MS Office programs
  • Assist with organizing and supporting special events
  • Work effectively under pressure, demonstrating sound judgment, flexibility, and reliability
  • Always maintain strict confidentiality
Qualifications
  • Grade 12 Diploma and/or a certificate or diploma in clerical or office administration
  • Knowledge and understanding of First Nation culture and values
  • Strong understanding of general office procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional presentation and exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities
