Job summary

AGF Group in Ottawa is seeking an experienced rebar detailer to join our team. You will review drawings, release bar lists, schedule on-site deliveries, draft RFIs, and propose technical solutions to keep projects on track.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a rebar detailer.
• Completion of a college program in a related field.
• Strong ability to visualize structural elements from drawings.
• Excellent mathematical skills and high attention to detail.
• Able to gather data, compile information, and prepare clear reports.
• Very good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review detailer's drawings to ensure no errors and compliance with Canadian and government standards.
• Release bar lists for manufacturing reinforcing steel dimensions and bending requirements.
• Schedule and plan on-site delivery of rebar.
• Draft RFIs to send to the client.
• Suggest and implement technical solutions to improve site and project outcomes.
• Monitor drawing submission schedule according to the project schedule.
• Communicate with Project Managers, Site Superintendents, and Site Foremen.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Review detailer's drawings to make sure there are no errors and that they comply with Canadian and government standards;
• Release bar lists to be used for the manufacturing of reinforcing steel length, diameter, and bending requirements;
• Schedule and plan on-site delivery of rebar;
• Draft RFI’s to send to the client;
• Suggest and implement technical solutions to improve site and project challenge outcomes;
• Monitor drawing submission schedule according to the project schedule;
• Communicate regularly with Project Managers, Site Superintendents, and our Site Foremen.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a rebar detailer.
• Completion of a college program in a related field.
• Strong ability to visualize structural elements from drawings.
• Excellent mathematical skills and high attention to detail.
• Proven ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare clear reports.
• Very good verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized, autonomous, creative, flexible, and able to work under pressure.
