Job summary

AGF Rebar in Alberta, Canada, seeks Reinforcing Ironworkers (Rodbusters) to join teams on Calgary and Edmonton projects. You will read structural drawings, cut/bend/assemble rebar, and install steel in footings, walls, slabs, and columns, often outdoors in varying weather.

Ideal candidates have WHMIS/CSTS-2020, be registered with Alberta Apprenticeship & Industry Training, and journeyperson status is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Read structural drawings/blueprints.
  • Install reinforcing steel per specs.
  • Commitment to safe work practices.
  • Willingness to learn rebar installation and basic construction methods.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret structural drawings and blueprints.
  • Cut, bend, assemble, and install reinforcing steel.
  • Tie and secure rebar according to specifications.
  • Install rebar in footings, walls, slabs, columns, and other structures.
  • Handle and move materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Work with cranes and rigging equipment when required.
  • Collaborate with team to meet deadlines.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures.
  • Work in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

AGF Rebar is looking for Reinforcing Ironworkers (Rodbusters) to join our teams working on a variety of construction projects across the Calgary and Edmonton regions in Alberta, with opportunities to work on major infrastructure projects across Western Canada.

About You

The ideal candidate is reliable, motivated, and willing to work in a hands-on trade environment.

Experience or assets
  • Previous construction or labour experience is an asset but not required
  • Willingness to learn rebar installation, tying, and basic construction methods
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Commitment to safe work practices
Requirements
  • WHMIS certification required
  • CSTS-2020 required
  • Must be registered with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT)
  • Journeyperson certification is an asset or must enter apprenticeship program
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
