Responsibilities
  1. Research and analyze market conditions to develop and refine our strategy of identifying investment opportunities across our portfolio.
  2. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and optimize project investment criteria and metrics and help create investment recommendations.
  3. Develop project budgets and schedules, and project plans for management consideration.
  4. Manage process of reviews, applications, entitlements, land use and permitting for selected projects with municipalities and coordinate with external consulting team.
  5. Create detailed reports on status of projects, and work with team to ensure internal and external reporting is satisfied.
Experience And Educational Requirements
  1. Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Planning, Architecture, Engineering or Finance/Economics.
  2. Deep understanding and 5+ years of experience in land use planning and development in the Canadian multifamily context.
  3. Current knowledge of construction costs, timelines, across various multifamily buildforms.
  4. Experience building multidisciplinary consulting teams and leading land use and permitting initiatives.
  5. Strong knowledge of development economics, analytical and research skills.
Technical Requirements
  1. Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint).
  2. Familiarity with MS Project, Procore, Blue Beam, AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe platform.
  3. Ability to learn and adapt to changing systems and new technology.
Non-Technical Requirements
  1. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  2. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to prepare, present, and communicate with all levels including Senior Executive.
  3. Ability to learn new concepts quickly and become proficient in a variety of skills and disciplines. Willingness to adapt to change and be flexible in nature.
  4. Creative problem solver.
  5. Strong planning and organizational skills coupled with ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  6. Ability to work independently and with other Associates in a team environment.
  7. Displays a high level of initiative and commitment to excellence.
  8. Demonstrate a positive attitude, enthusiasm and assertiveness strong commitment to providing excellent customer service to fellow Associates and Project Team Partners.
  9. Travel will be required – routine air travel to various project sites throughout Canada.
  10. Site Visits to active construction sites, requiring use of specific PPE, ability to navigate sites, and climb stairs.
  11. Overtime or irregular hours may be required from time to time to ensure project deliveries are met.
  12. Primary work environment may be in an office setting during regular business hours with travel to sites required on a frequent basis.
