Job summary

Willing Care Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Room Leader for a welcoming nursery environment that blends EYFS with Montessori and Reggio Emilia influences. The role focuses on creating a home-from-home setting and leading quality care and education for babies.

The successful candidate will have prior room leadership or senior practitioner experience, a good understanding of EYFS, and a nurturing, child-led approach.

Qualifications

• Previous Room Leader or Senior Practitioner experience.
• Experience in a baby room is desirable.
• Good understanding of the EYFS framework.
• Knowledge or interest in Montessori and Reggio Emilia.
• A nurturing, child-led approach to care.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the baby room and ensure high-quality care and education.
• Create a calm, nurturing environment for babies.
• Plan and deliver engaging EYFS-based activities.
• Support children's emotional, social, and developmental needs.
• Build strong relationships with families and colleagues.
• Support and guide room team members.
• Ensure safeguarding and health & safety standards are met.
• All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check, references, and right-to-work verification.

£31,200 per annum | 40 hours per week across 5 days

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Room Leader to join a warm and welcoming nursery with a true home-from-home feel.

This nurturing setting takes a unique approach to early years education, blending the EYFS framework with influences from Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies to create a rich, child-centred learning environment. With a strong focus on curiosity, independence, and emotional wellbeing, the nursery provides children with the best possible start in life.

Holding a Good Ofsted rating, the nursery is committed to maintaining high standards of care and education while creating a supportive and positive environment for both children and staff.

What We’re Looking For

Previous experience as a Room Leader or Senior Practitioner – essential

Experience working within a baby room environment – Desirable

Good understanding of the EYFS framework

Knowledge or interest in Montessori and Reggio Emilia approaches

A nurturing, caring, and child-led approach to early years care

Strong communication and leadership skills
