Job summary

Air Inuit in Kuujjuaq (Nunavik) seeks a Ramp Operations Supervisor to oversee all ground operations, including cargo, baggage and equipment handling, ensuring safety, efficiency, and service quality.

Rotational schedule: 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. Some travel to other Nunavik stations may be required. Air transport, accommodation, and meals are covered for rotations; benefits include RRSP, comprehensive group insurance, telemedicine, EAP, flight privileges, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent in at least two languages: Inuktitut, French, English.
• Punctual, reliable and able to work under pressure.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a cargo agent or handler.
• Certified in the transport of dangerous goods.
• Familiarity with safety management systems.
• Forklift driving experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to other Nunavik stations.
• Availability for occasional training travel.

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce company-defined ramp procedures, inspections, and policies.
• Assist the Base Manager with planning, training, and disciplinary actions.

• Supervise Air Inuit personnel and subcontractors to ensure safety compliance.
• Ensure adherence to Transport Canada and other government regulations.
• Perform additional tasks to maintain base efficiency.
• Support the team and department as needed.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Ramp Operations Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate all ground operations. Your leadership will ensure that cargo, baggage, and equipment are managed with precision and efficiency, contributing to seamless flight operations and exceptional service quality.

THE ROLE IN DEPTH

• Oversee and plan all ramp operations, mainly crew management, loading/unloading, baggage and cargo handling, and de-icing.


• Implement and enforce company-defined ramp procedures, inspections, and policies.


• Assist the Base Manager with various tasks, including planning, training, and disciplinary actions.


• Monitor performance on a daily basis and quickly remedy any operational shortcomings or failures.


• Supervise Air Inuit personnel and subcontractors to ensure compliance with all safety measures and procedures.


• Ensure adherence to Transport Canada and other government regulations.


• Perform any additional tasks required to maintain operational efficiency of the base.


• Support the team and department according to operational needs.

WHAT SETS YOU APART

• High school diploma or equivalent.

COMPENSATION

• Salary and benefits are determined according to company policy.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Rotational position: 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off.


• If the position is not filled locally:


• Air transport from Montreal as well as accommodation and meals are covered by the company for each rotation.


• The employee will be recognized as not having a designated base.
