Job summary

Air Inuit Ltd. is seeking a Ramp Agent to diligently load, unload, and marshal cargo and baggage, and to service aircraft. You will direct aircraft to gates, operate ground support equipment, and perform basic maintenance as needed.

The role requires physical fitness, safety focus, and strong communication. A high school diploma and multilingual ability (Inuktitut/French/English) are valued, with willingness to travel for training and to work evenings, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to communicate in at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, French, English.
• Hold and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 32 kg).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Previous experience in a similar role is an asset.
• Open to occasional travel for training.
• Available to work evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Guide (marshaling) aircraft to and from gates using hand signals and radios, ensuring safe and accurate parking.
• Load and unload baggage, cargo and mail from aircraft, ensuring fast and safe handling.
• Operate ground support equipment such as tugs, conveyor belts and baggage carts. Perform minor maintenance tasks on this equipment.
• Perform basic cabin maintenance when aircraft is empty.
• Comply with all safety and security procedures.
• Perform visual inspections of aircraft for visible defects or damage.
• Coordinate with pilots, air traffic control and other ground crew members to ensure smooth operations.
• Perform any other duties necessary and required by the company to ensure efficient operations.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Ramp Agent is diligent and responsible, handling, loading and unloading cargo and baggage, directing aircraft to and from gates and servicing aircraft. This position requires good physical condition, excellent time management skills and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency.

COMPENSATION

• Salary and benefits are determined according to company policy.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Rotational - 15 days of work followed by 13 days off.
• If the position is not filled locally, air transportation from Montreal as well as lodging and food allowance will be provided.
