Job summary

CMAC-THYSSEN Mining Group Inc. is seeking a Raisebore Driller Helper to support the Raisebore Driller in all drilling tasks on site in Northwestern Ontario.

The role focuses on safe, efficient operations within underground hard rock environments, and you will follow established procedures and assist with inspections, logs, and maintenance. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, Ontario underground hard rock common core, and a commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Raisebore Driller in drilling tasks.
• Perform pre-operational inspections and first-level maintenance on raiseboring equipment.
• Read and interpret drilling plans and work instructions.
• Handle drill rods, drilling tools, and components required to carry out the work.
• Complete daily production and operational reports.

Job description

As an integral member of the Mining Operations team, the Raisebore Driller Helper is responsible for assisting the Raisebore Driller in performing his or her drilling tasks.

• Always comply with all health and safety standards and requirements;
• Inspect the work area at the beginning and end of each shift;
• Use and complete all required logs, work cards, and reports;
• Perform pre-operational inspections and first-level maintenance on raiseboring equipment;
• Read and interpret drilling plans, specifications, and work instructions;
• Participate in the installation, assembly, and dismantling of raisebore equipment;
• Position and operate the raisebore drill in accordance with established procedures;
• Perform pilot hole drilling and reaming operations according to prescribed parameters;
• Handle drill rods, drilling tools, and components required to carry out the work;
• Inspect equipment condition and report any mechanical or operational issues;
• Maintain the work area and ensure a safe working environment;
• Complete daily production and operational reports;
• Perform any other related duties as required.

Requirements
