Job summary

CMAC-THYSSEN Mining Group Inc. is seeking a Raisebore Driller to install, operate, and maintain raiseboring equipment at an underground mining site in Ontario. You will perform pilot hole drilling and reaming, interpret drilling plans, and ensure safe, efficient operations.

Responsibilities include pre‑operational inspections, equipment maintenance, logging, and daily production reporting. Relevant experience in underground hard rock drilling and Ontario common core certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Relevant experience in mining drilling operations.
• Underground hard rock common core in Ontario.
• Ability to read and interpret drilling plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Always comply with health and safety standards and requirements.
• Inspect the work area at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Use and complete logs, work cards, and reports.
• Perform pre-operational inspections and first-level maintenance on raiseboring equipment.
• Read and interpret drilling plans, specifications, and work instructions.
• Participate in installation, assembly, and dismantling of raisebore equipment.
• Position and operate the raisebore drill according to procedures.
• Perform pilot hole drilling and reaming operations according to parameters.
• Handle drill rods, drilling tools, and components required to carry out the work.
• Inspect equipment condition and report issues.
• Maintain the work area and ensure a safe working environment.
• Complete daily production and operational reports.
• Perform any other related duties as required.

Job description

As an integral member of the Mining Operations team, the Raisebore Driller is responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of raiseboring equipment. The incumbent performs pilot hole drilling and reaming operations in accordance with plans, specifications, and work procedures while ensuring that all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with established requirements.
