Job summary

Metrolinx is offering a co-op placement in the Service and Access Planning team to support GO Transit rail services. You will collect and analyze service data, help prepare timetables, and assist in developing planning materials with mentorship from experienced professionals.

Three co-op students will work with internal stakeholders to gain hands-on experience in transit data management, performance evaluation, and operational improvements across GO Transit networks in the Greater Golden

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time in a recognized post-secondary co-op program and eligible to complete a co-op work term.
• Studying Engineering, Urban Planning, Geography, Computer Science, Transportation Planning, or Data Analytics.

Responsibilities

• Support rail service planning and operational improvement initiatives.
• Collect, organize, analyze, and maintain service and operational data for the GO Rail network.
• Develop and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and reports used to support planning and decision-making.
• Assist with preparation of operational documentation, including timetables.
• Conduct research and analysis to support planning, monitoring, and performance evaluation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather information and support project deliverables.
• Support development of presentations, reports, and planning materials.
• Participate in fieldwork, including passenger counts and service observations.
