Job summary

County of Simcoe is offering a Winter 2027 Co-op position for a Student Transit Assistant in Midhurst, Ontario. The role supports transit operations and scheduling for conventional and specialized services, assisting with reporting and data analysis during the startup period.

The student will help develop protocols for finance reporting, monitor ridership data and fare revenues, and contribute to marketing and communication efforts for public transit services.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a business-related program at College, University or Post-Secondary Institution.
• Ability to work with the public, customers and municipal councils.
• Must provide a clear criminal reference check within the last 6 months.
• Valid G-class driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing the annual business plan and action plan; evaluate targets and outcomes.
• Support day-to-day operations planning for startup of transit services.
• Liaise with the finance department during startup and establish reporting procedures.
