This position reports to

Manufacturing Unit Manager

Your role and responsibilities

As an R&D Team Lead, you will lead a team of Research and Development (R&D) employees, supporting them in achieving R&D targets. You will coach and develop the team, manage technologies, platforms, and Intellectual Property (IP). This role contributes to the Electrification, Installation Products division of ABB Canada, located in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. The work model is hybrid.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Providing technical and scientific leadership and support.
2. Supporting technology creation and product roadmaps.
3. Fostering innovation and creativity within the team.
4. Managing project portfolios, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
5. Ensuring project execution quality, timeliness, and budget adherence.
6. Staying updated on technology, market trends, and customer needs to guide project development.
7. Facilitating knowledge transfer and documentation.
8. Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
9. Managing IP and assessing risks and opportunities.
10. Preparing and managing budgets.
11. Leading talent development, coaching, and performance management.
