Job description

We are seeking a Quality Inspector with custom machine shop experience. The inspector ensures production standards are met to achieve quality objectives. Responsibilities include preparing operational documents, training employees, and collaborating with management to establish and maintain standards.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Perform quality control functions such as metrology, document control, and inspection operations.
2. Conduct quality assurance activities including calibration, defect analysis, and NCR processing.
3. Read and interpret technical drawings.
4. Perform incoming dimensional checks.
5. Handle precision instruments like Vernier, calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges.
6. Use gauges and measuring instruments to verify tolerance requirements.
7. Generate NCRs as needed.
8. Communicate deficiencies to QA and Production Managers via NCR and CA.
9. Perform root cause analysis.
10. Apply 5S principles.
11. Perform tasks safely and responsibly.
12. Other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.

Requirements

Physical

• Sitting, standing, walking.
• Carrying, stooping, lifting (up to 40 pounds), reaching.

Mental

• Strong math skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple departments daily to ensure efficiency.

Education & Skills

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Technical school diploma, trade certificate, or equivalent qualification preferred.

Experience

• At least three years in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with initiative and follow-through.
• Excellent technical and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of metrology.
• Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
• Effective communicator across departments.
