Job summary

The Ottawa Hospital is seeking a Specialist 1, Quality to lead strategic planning, analysis, and coordination of quality and performance initiatives across the organization. The role supports education and collaborates to improve processes in line with hospital policies.

You will drive patient safety projects, facilitate committees, and report indicators to stakeholders while contributing to dissemination of results through presentations and publications.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Health Sciences or a related discipline required.
• Three years of experience in a health care environment.
• Quality and patient safety training completed.
• Knowledge of hospital organization and health care delivery systems.
• Demonstrated project management experience and quality improvement initiatives.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Identifies incidents related to patient safety and reviews them for learning.
• Coordinates and implements quality improvement projects as required.
• Leads corporate patient safety initiatives and committees.
• Disseminates quality results through presentations and publications.
• Supports education and training on quality improvement and patient safety.
• Reports quality and safety indicators to internal and external stakeholders.
