Job summary

Expand Reach Inc. in Vaughan, Canada seeks a Quality Engineer to drive QMS improvements across manufacturing operations, delivering training, audits, and active project leadership to ensure flawless processes.

You will develop and update QA documentation, manage CAPA/CAR, NCRs, supplier quality programs, and participate in review meetings; lead Lean and Six Sigma efforts to reduce defects and enhance product reliability.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Quality, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3+ years' hands-on quality engineering in manufacturing.
  • Deep understanding of QC tools, QA principles, and ISO 9001.
  • Lean and Six Sigma knowledge for process improvement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with architectural products is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • QMS management: train, audit, and lead projects to ensure compliance.
  • ISO 9001 audits: support internal, supplier, and customer audits.
  • Documentation & standards: develop and update QA SOPs and guidelines.
  • Root Cause Analysis: lead CAPA/CAR investigations and actions.
  • Quality documentation control: manage NCR, CN, SCAR and scorecards.
  • Customer & supplier QA: investigate complaints and qualify vendors.
  • Review meetings: represent QA in internal and customer reviews.
  • Trend analysis: monitor metrics and production data to spot quality risks.
  • Lean / Six Sigma initiatives: lead improvements to reduce defects.

Job description

  • QMS Management: Drive adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS) through training, auditing, and active project leadership.
  • ISO 9001 Audits: Participate in and support internal, supplier, and customer ISO 9001 quality management audits.
  • Documentation & Standards: Develop, review, and update QA documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), assembly guidelines, and inspection standards
Corrective Action & Problem Solving
  • Root Cause Analysis: Lead investigations into internal and external product failures; design and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA/CAR).
  • Quality Documentation Control: Manage and coordinate Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), Change Notices (CN), Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR), and scorecard tracking.
Customer & Supplier Quality Assurance
  • Customer Complaints: Act as the voice of customer quality—investigating, resolving, and documenting customer complaints and product quality concerns.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Conduct supplier audits to qualify vendors, communicate quality expectations, and ensure collaborative issue resolution.
  • Review Meetings: Represent the Quality team in regular internal and external customer review meetings.
  • Trend Analysis: Monitor quality metrics, analyze test results and production data, and identify negative quality trends to mitigate operational risks.
  • Lean / Six Sigma Initiatives: Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to minimize defect rates and streamline processes.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Diploma or Degree in Quality, Manufacturing, and Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on quality engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of Quality Control tools, QA principles, manufacturing processes, and ISO 9001.
  • Process Improvement: Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal ability to manage cross-functional projects.
  • Tools: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Industry Focus: Prior experience with Architectural products is strongly preferred.
  • Certifications: American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification (e.g., CQE, CQA, or CSSBB).
