Job summary

W3Global is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Inspector in Vaughan to support PPAP data collection, inspections, and training of associates. The role emphasizes accuracy in measurement, adherence to GD&T standards, and maintaining QA documentation.

Responsibilities include conducting various inspections, training operators on measuring equipment, and participating in quality audits. Strong communication and independent decision-making are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Understand fundamentals of quality assurance.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Can work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T).
  • Knowledge in statistical process control.
  • Sound knowledge of IATF 16949.
  • Two years automotive manufacturing experience; preferably in metal stamping.
  • Computer skills such as Microsoft Office; Minitab or similar an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in selection of parts, measurement and data collection for PPAP.
  • Review and train associates in use of tags, stickers and labels.
  • Perform receiving, in-process and final inspections and record results on inspection sheets.
  • Perform First Piece Setup inspections and communicate results to production or tool-room teams.
  • Perform Last Off inspection and report quality concerns; store First Off & Last Off parts.
  • Organize initial training of operators on measurement equipment and reporting information.
  • Maintain measuring equipment and fixtures; perform gauge R/R or calibration studies.
  • Maintain control of non-conforming material; segregation and DMRs.
  • Monitor operations at prescribed frequency and assist associates.
  • Train associates in measurement, recording, plotting and analysis of SPC or capability issues.
  • Participate in internal or external audits as required.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in QA lab and QA workstations.
  • Any other reasonable functions assigned by management.
