WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

As a Quality Control Supervisor, you will oversee daily operations in the QC lab/Blood Center. You will supervise staff performing moderate to advanced testing, processing, and preparation of pathogen-reduced platelet blood products for hospital use. Responsibilities include hiring, supervising, training, supporting, developing, and leading staff while ensuring safety compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage daily operations of the QC lab, supervise staff and volunteers, including hiring, training, coaching, evaluating, and disciplining to ensure a qualified team and compliance.
  • Prepare work schedules and ensure adequate coverage for shifts. Supervise work processes for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Verify product/samples for release, review documents, and ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Meet monthly QC requirements, document and troubleshoot errors, and address customer concerns.
  • Communicate with lab staff to resolve issues, facilitate shipments, and clarify test data.
  • Participate in validation of equipment and procedures, serving as a departmental expert.

Pay Information:

$73,000 - $85,000 DOE

Shift:

2nd shift with coverage for other shifts as needed, Monday - Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years related experience or equivalent.
  • 1 year of supervisory or lead experience.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills. Ability to work with diverse internal and external customers.

Preferred: MT (ASCP) certification or equivalent, knowledge of blood products and supplies.
