Job summary

Solenis, a leading global provider of water and hygiene solutions, seeks a QA Supervisor to oversee the Quality department, ensure GMP/ISO and health standards, and back up the QA Manager. You will guide audits, investigations, and documentation while supporting plant operations in a team-based environment.

The role requires a chemistry/quality science background and 3+ years of QA leadership in GMP settings, with possible SAP experience. On-site work in Canada, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related science (or equivalent post-secondary education with Chemistry background).
• 3+ years QA leadership or supervisory experience in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with MS Office; SAP experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Solenis safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
• Supervise QA staff, including scheduling, time-off management, and weekly payroll.
• Lead supplier and customer quality investigations, including NCRs, CAPAs, and complaint resolution.
• Coordinate product release activities and quality documentation to support timely shipment.
• Conduct internal GMP and ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 audits.
• Maintain quality procedures, training compliance, and regulatory alignment.
• Manage QA laboratory needs, including purchase requisitions and testing readiness.
• Coordinate and document equipment and process validations.
• Prepare quality data for Management Review and present QA updates at plant meetings.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (5 Why, Kaizen, TPM).
• Support employee reviews, investigations, and disciplinary processes.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, this role supervises the Quality department and provides technical support related to product chemistry, quality systems, and regulatory compliance. The position ensures compliance with GMP, ISO, Health Canada, FDA, and environmental standards while supporting plant operations in a team‑based environment. This role serves as the backup to the QA Manager when required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure compliance with all Solenis safety, quality, and environmental requirements
• Supervise QA staff, including scheduling, time‑off management, and weekly payroll
• Lead supplier and customer quality investigations, including NCRs, CAPAs, and complaint resolution
• Coordinate product release activities and quality documentation to support timely shipment
• Conduct internal GMP and ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 audits
• Maintain quality procedures, training compliance, and regulatory alignment
• Manage QA laboratory needs, including purchase requisitions and testing readiness
• Coordinate and document equipment and process validations
• Prepare quality data for Management Review and present QA updates at plant meetings
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (5 Why, Kaizen, TPM)
• Support employee reviews, investigations, and disciplinary processes
• Adjust shifts and work overtime as needed to support business needs
• Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related science (or equivalent post‑secondary education with Chemistry background)
• 3+ years QA leadership or supervisory experience in a GMP‑regulated manufacturing environment
• Proficiency with MS Office; SAP experience is an asset

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• Safety‑focused, detail‑oriented, and collaborative
• Adaptable to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
• Experience with IR, UV/Vis, HPLC, and GC instrumentation (asset)
• Willingness to work overtime, evenings, or weekends as required

The expected compensation range for this position is between $58,450.00 and 77,930.00 plus discretionary bonuses. The exact compensation may vary based on your skills, experience and other factors permitted by law.
