Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Support the implementation and assessment of ongoing compliance to quality testing programs aligned with UL/external requirements and specifications.
  2. Assist in controlling non-conforming materials and products through proper procedures.
  3. Ensure on-site Quality laboratories operate according to Good Laboratory Practices and UL/external standards, including safety and test methods.
  4. Support calibration and maintenance programs for inspection, measurement, and testing equipment.
  5. Monitor and verify fill parameters to ensure product fill control and compliance.
  6. Maintain systems for recording and preserving key quality data and information.
  7. Participate in Quality and Food Safety process improvement teams within the factory.
  8. Ensure the use of UL-required IT systems, practices, and tools to reduce quality losses.
  9. Engage in structured quality improvement activities related to customer and consumer issues.
  10. Collect and analyze supplier performance data to improve inbound material quality.
  11. Conduct process capability studies to align process capabilities with specifications.
  12. Support management of quality-related projects using current tools and practices.
  13. Assist in completing and maintaining audits, GMP inspections, and certifications.
  14. Verify and document compliance with regulatory requirements related to quality and safety.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Post-Secondary Diploma in Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field
  • Understanding of HACCP, FSMA, and HACCP Level 1, 2 (asset)
  • Knowledge of GMPs in a food plant
  • Ability to manage conflicts and foster an inclusive environment
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, 4-M analysis)
  • Strong analytical and laboratory skills with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, and process-oriented
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work shifts, including overtime and weekends
  • Experience with SAP, SAP QM, and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, PowerBI)
