Job summary

Hitachi Rail invites applications for a Quality Assurance Intern in Toronto. The 12-month internship is full-time with a hybrid work model, starting January 2027.

The role offers exposure to software/hardware QA, AI-enabled process improvements, and real-world transit projects. You will collaborate with the North America Quality department, support KPI tracking, and develop skills in Power BI, automation tools, and data-driven QA practices while gaining hands-on industry experience with a global

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Engineering or a related field at an accredited university.
• Completed at least 2 years of undergraduate coursework.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Able to work full-time hours (40 per week) for a 12-month term.
• Strong willingness to learn and contribute independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist North America Quality department with software and hardware quality assurance tasks.
• Implement AI use cases to reduce quality activity costs and automate metric collection.
• Participate in the AI committee to contribute ideas.
• Support Quality Assurance Manager with metrics collection and KPI updates.
• Update scripts/tools used by the Quality Assurance team.
• Manage customer surveys and collect feedback from customers.
