Job summary

Enerflex Ltd. in Calgary SE seeks a Purchasing Expeditor to oversee timely production and non-production material deliveries.

The role emphasizes proactive supplier coordination, schedule maintenance, and timely issue resolution to protect on-time delivery for projects. The successful candidate will bring expediting experience, strong communication, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Direct expediting experience or related purchasing/logistics experience.
  • Experience with manufactured equipment, controls, instrumentation and valves or related experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Strong communication, time management and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work demands.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee timely manufacture and delivery of materials.
  • Communicate lead-time conflicts to the projects team and manage deliveries.
  • Review purchase orders and delivery dates to meet production deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain project-receiving schedules and provide updates.
  • Track review and approval of vendor drawings to avoid delays.
  • Participate in daily, weekly and monthly project meetings.
  • Solve problems to keep orders on schedule.

Job description

Reporting to the Manager of Purchasing, the purpose of the Purchasing Expeditor includes, but is not limited to, the expediting of all production and non-production materials and the timely resolution of all supplier related problems affecting on-time delivery.

With a foundation of integrity, the candidate would use commitment and creativity to drive our organization forward. This position is based out of the Enerflex's Calgary SE facility.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Proactively work with suppliers and subcontractors to oversee the timely manufacture and delivery of materials in the quantity and quality ordered
  • Proactively and effectively communicate to the projects team any lead-time conflicts and manage the successful execution of product deliveries
  • Review purchase orders and delivery dates with buyers and other departments ensuring timely delivery to meet production deadlines
  • Develop and maintain project-receiving schedules and present project delivery updates when required
  • Track the review & approval of vendor drawings so delays do not occur
  • Participate in daily, weekly & monthly project meetings as required
  • Exercise creative problem solving and decision-making to ensure orders stay on schedule and deadlines are met
Qualifications
  • Direct expediting experience or a combination of relevant education, training or experience in a purchasing, logistics and/or supply chain field will be considered an asset
  • Experience with manufactured equipment, controls, instrumentation and valves or related experience in a manufacturing environment is a definite asset
  • Ability to prioritize workload along with excellent interpersonal, communication, organization and time management skills and the ability to maintain a positive attitude in the workplace
  • Positive team player with a good attitude and is adaptable to changing work demands
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong desire to exceed customer expectations
  • Excellent technical skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SAP
  • Excellent verbal, writing and non-verbal skills. Persuasive, consensus builder
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to manage workload within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
